From the moment we walked in and the aroma hit us, we knew it was going to be good. We weren't disappointed. The ribs were the best we had had in a long, long time.the pulled pork and brisket were fantastic as well. The two ladies behind the counter were very helpful also.

Great brisket and ribs, bbq sauce comes on the side, both original and hot sauces are great, sides all tasted great. Will be back to try the other smoked meats.

Not to bad for a fast casual BBQ place. Tried the 3 meat combo, had the ribs, sliced brisket and chicken. The ribs were cooked perfectly and had a nice rub and smoke flavor to them. The brisket had a nice smoke ring and flavor, but was a tad bit dry. The best meat of the 3 was the chicken. It is a sliced, smoked chicken breast, very moist and flavorful. For sides I had the green beans and potatoe salad. Not great or bad, just average. Meal comes with a piece of texas toast, that was pretty bland and only grilled on one side The BBQ sauces they offered are a sweet and hot variety, sweet was a little to sweet for my liking. The hot could be a little spicier in my opinion. All the sauces come on the side in a portion cup. All the meats had good flavor, without the sauce. My one huge complaint would be that all the food was lukewarm, we did carrout, but only live 10 minutes away, next time we will eat in to see if this is a common problem. Overall this is a decent BBQ place compared to the former train-wreck that was RealBarBQ.

The food is really good here! I love the pulled pork and the polish sausage... OMG! Soo good! The ribs are decent, not as good as the pulled pork and the polish sausage though. The brisket is really good, also. For sides, the BBQ Beans are the way to go with huge chunks of pork in it! Mmmm, soo yummy! The food is cooked overnight, all night long in a slow cooker and is pulled out only when a customer asks for their meat of choice. Then it is placed directly back in. I love the way it is set up and I personally think it's fun to watch them prepare your food right in front of you. Kind of like a subway but a lot better. Now let's talk about price.. Billy Sims is definitely on the pricey side with portions a little bit on the smaller side. Not my favorite, but it's a good place to splurge once in a blue moon. Needless to say, the bill adds up quite quickly. Also, when it gets close to closing time, be aware that they might be completely out of food. I had an experience where my boyfriend and I went a half hour before closing to get food to go. We walked in and the lady said, sorry we're all out of food for the night :( what a bummer! We were looking forward to eating billy sims that night but we returned the next day a lot earlier and got our billy sims fix :) haha. I'd recommend this place to others simply because the food is mostly amazing. I'd also recommend that you don't make it a weekly place to eat or you'll be broke lol. So, 3 stars because of the high prices for the small-ish portions of food.

Best BBQ you can get in the downriver area. Not a good place to eat in because there's limited seating and not much going on in terms of decor or atmosphere, but the brisket isn't bad and the Texas toast is awesome. The catering manager is also a sweetheart. Great customer service and decent food, Two thumbs up

My wife and I think this place has one of the best pulled pork sandwiches downriver. We love it. I usually get some smoked polish sausage too and enjoy it. The sides are nothing special but that's not really what we are going there for. also we love how quick you can get your food. When we are in a hurry we skip The traditional fast food and goto this place.

Everything is very tasty. The pulled pork is good. The stuffed baked potatoe is delicious. The chilli spicy. BUT...it's a bit on the pricey side. The potatoe was filling, but the chilli portion is small. We go every couple of weeks. I hope they tweek it a bit. The food is good, I would just like to get more for my money. The staff is very nice.

Beautiful restaurant friendly help price is sky high for small portions. I've been to Texas and this certainly isn't it. Who gives someone raw fat red onion clumps on the side of their sandwich ? Uhhnaaaaahhh. I think Billy might need to go back to Texas and get the rest of the food because charging this much for portions this small ought to be illegal. I love barbecue especially Texas barbecue but I won't be back here.

Average food. Not much different than the place that was there before. The meat was good, but they forgot my husband's sides and didn't do much to rectify the situation except let him come back and pick up the sides. Not to impressed with the service either. When we called to place our order, the girl on the phone was rude and could barely hear us because of all the background noise inside the restaurant. We probably won't go here again.

13 hour smoked brisket from a fast food chain tastes like old leather compared to the delicious cuts of meat I ALWAYS get from the Billy Sims across from Meijer. The people who work there are always very friendly, the portions are HUGE! Prices are good, too. I always walk out with three nice piles of meat, sides, bread, and a brownie for 2x people for around $20-$25. Keep it up guys! I hear you're at Ford Field now! Cool! Go Lions! Thanks Billy.

Neither my dad nor I really liked the food here. We got carry out. Ribs, not much flavor. Zukins is way better. Chicken tasted like turkey. Brisket and brownie were both just ok. Chili was alright. We won't be going back

I generally stop here when I'm in a hurry. But i think last night was the worst.BBQ i have ever had. I really dislike the poor quality brisket, last night was very dry and tough, both worse that i have ever had.. Stay away from the shredded brisket. Inedible, the manager explained it was a cheap cut of meat, that they had to run it through a shredder. Sauces have no flavor. Sides are maybe 2-3 oz, and last night, were only 3/4 full.. Ribs are more consistent, although sometimes overcooked and mushy.. "do you want a pickle, onion, and pepper with that?" Pepperocini? Cant pop for a jalapeno? 2 pickle slices or a full slice of onion? This resembles a SW BBQ joint, kind of like White Castle represents the steak industry. Billy needs to come back and do a QC check.
